Domino Server 6.0.3 Windows 2000

A tomcat server accessing a local domino server 6.0.3 via Domino Java API (local access). Most of the time the application runs ok, but sometikes I get the error given in the subject when calling

NotesThread.sinitThread()

The tomcat server does not crash immediately after this error but is generally unstable/crashes frequently, so it appears likely that the error is related to it.

The same application runs on many other machines well. The only difference on this one: There are TWO J2EE servers on this one accessing ONE domino server.

Does anyone know more about this error? Is is generally risky to access domino via java from two sides?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
